Catholic Life in Action

At All Saints, we are a Catholic community with a mission to promote and to live out the Gospel Values of Christ. We do this through our Servite Values. As such, everyone in the school is expected to actively participate to help improve our community and provide service to others, to show compassion, and to respect each other. In short, we are all asked to “love one another, as Jesus loved us”. (cf John 13:34)

This is shown in many ways at All Saints, including our acts of charity, our care for the environment and the pastoral care system which operates within the school.

Overview of prayer and liturgy provision at All Saints

Prayer and Liturgy are central to the Catholic life of the school and all students and staff are invited to participate in acts of worship on a daily basis.

a) Prayer:

Prayers are said at the following times:

  • At the start of the school day during Prep Time in all classes. Where appropriate, prayers will be led by Servite Leaders in each Tutor Group..

  • Prayer group sessions run by the school chaplains take place during lunchtimes. This will include saying the rosary during May and October, and the Stations of the Cross during Lent.

  • For non-Catholics, there is a multifaith prayer room available during lunchtimes.

  • Additionally, there is provision for when Holy days of Obligation fall on a school day for either a whole school Mass at St Ignatius or Mass in the School Chapel.

  • There is a Year 7 Welcome Mass attended by pupils and parents.

Additionally, there is the opportunity for additional liturgical celebrations including a carol concert for Year 7 pupils and parents which takes place during Advent.

c) Sacrament of Reconciliation

There is an opportunity for pupils to receive the sacrament of reconciliation during Advent and Lent, subject to availability of the local priest.

d) Retreats and Spiritual Days

During the year, time will be made available for pupils to have time off the curriculum to be allowed to explore aspects of their faith. This will be occur particularly during the liturgical seasons of Advent and Lent.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou amongst women,

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Father

Our Father,

Who art in heaven,

hallowed be Thy name;

Thy kingdom come;

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us;

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy,

our life, our sweetness and our hope.

To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve:

to thee do we send up our sighs,

mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.

Turn then, most gracious Advocate,

thine eyes of mercy toward us,

and after this our exile,

show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Amen.

Morning Offering

Dear Lord, I do not know what will happen to me today. I only know that nothing will happen that was not foreseen by You, and directed to my greater good from all eternity. I adore Your holy and unfathomable plans, and submit to them with all my heart for love of You, the Pope, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen.

Guardian Angel Prayer

Angel of God, my Guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here, ever this day (or night) be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Grace Before Meals

Grace Before Meals

Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Grace After Meals

We give Thee thanks for all Thy benefits, O Almighty God, who livest and reignest world without end. Amen. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
